Delivery Preperation

Delivery Preparation

Why is this important?

If you do not check the access and ensure that your new static caravan will be able to be transported and sited (if requested) at your desired location, there are two likely outcomes.  You risk the chance of a failed delivery, which you will have to pay for or you risk receiving a damaged caravan due to an access issue.  It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the caravan will fit in the desired location, following these simple steps below will help avoid any costly issues:

Step-by-step process

Follow these simple steps to provide our staff with enough information to ensure a successful delivery:

 1.  Walk or drive the route with a passenger from the nearest A road

Check for any pinch points like tree trunks, telegraph poles, low tree branches, tight bends and especially single carriageway sections of road.  If the road does not have a white line down the middle it may be a struggle to navigate the caravan transporter through.

2.  Measure your access

Remember that gate posts have hinges that need to be taken into consideration when measuring, also remove any foliage that may be in the way.

3.  Is there room to manoeuvre?

Static Caravans come in all different sizes, your sales representative will help you with the dimensions so you can measure accurately ready for the arrival of your new caravan.

4.  Is the ground soft at the delivery point?

Caravans are heavy and so is our caravan transporter, around 25 tonnes fully loaded, our drivers will never put the transporter on grass or an area where the lorry or caravan is likely to sink.  If the ground is soft, we may need to survey the site before we arrive.

5.  Are there any obstacles?

Check for obstacles around the area you are looking to have the caravan delivered to, this includes access outside of the siting area.

6.  Speak with our static caravan experts

Our staff are very experienced, if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Remember it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the caravan fits in the desired location and that the correct permissions are held for it to be there.  Refunds will not be given and failed deliveries will be charged for if you have not measured the access properly or do not have the correct permissions, so follow these simple steps and ask any questions you have in mind to avoid any costly mistakes.

Our experts have years of experience and the ideal skill set to advise on the right size static for your site, please ask about our site surveying service. 01754 483988.
